Plague, still bent on disassembling the Shinobi Squad, sent Ogre, Troll, Slash and a unit of Shrapnel Soldiers to hunt down Mirage while Reaper was recovering from injuries sustained while capturing Decoder. Slash, formerly known as Decoder, couldn't find Mirage's specific location in China even with his augmented mind and body. In a berserker's fit of rage and frustration, Ogre began destroying the next village he came to and held the villagers hostage. Ogre smirked, "If we can't go to him, we will make him come to us." Over the next several days, many villages fell victim to the Curse and it wasn't long before Mirage came with his trusted blade to their rescue. Mirage made quick work of the Shrapnel Soldier unit and even fought off Troll and Ogre to free many of the hostages. However, when Mirage saw his trusted friend Decoder physically augmented and fighting with the Curse, his heart sank inside him. They battled for what seemed like hours until Ogre and Troll began rounding up hostages and threatened to kill them all unless Mirage surrendered himself. In true heroes fashion, Mirage laid down his sword in surrender. After incapacitating him with a tranquilizer for transport, Mirage soon found himself at Curse headquarters in front of Plague and was given the the mind altering and physically augmenting nano-mechs against his will. Not long afterward, Mirage felt himself fading away and something else or someone else taking its place. His mind became Claimed by the Nano-mechs. Plague whispered in his ear, "Let the Nightmare begin."

Here are different angles of him. He was fun to create. I really love Deisel's arms and lower legs on him. They make him look more like a ninja. I kept his hat similar and only darkened the colors. I thoughy about changing the color, but couldn't imagine those types of hats being a different color.

Awesome custom work! I have a few Mirage figures I have thought of doing customs with, but just haven't ever started on. This might be the inspiration I need to get it in gear! Great job again!

Thanks, tk! I wish I had several of that figure too. The whole figure is great. I took him for granted and thought he'd be on the pegs forever, but wished I'd have bought a couple now. I'll have to eBay him now. Love the head sculpt and I wish those arms weren't retired from the current line. I hope to see some customs from you as well. We could stand to have more customizers here at the board.

Grim story, but great looking custom. The colors are pretty much perfect.

Thanks, pjr3! Excellent!! Love it. How are you swopping legs onto different crotches?? Lower leg swaps are done by taking the knee pin out (soften the plastic with hot water before pushing the pin out). Sometimes the knees need to be modified on new thigh pieces, but for the most part they are easily swapped. Grim story, but great looking custom. The colors are pretty much perfect. Thanks, MW! I didn't want the Curse just to capture and beat the heroes because these guys are supposed to be the best of the best. With him being a ninja, I wanted to add something about doing something honorable for the good of others. The colors grew on me while working on him. Glad you liked it.

Any tips to avoiding paint rub on the elbow joint and shoulder joint if Im painting a complete arm? Do you recommend taking the arms apart before painting?

Any tips to avoiding paint rub on the elbow joint and shoulder joint if Im painting a complete arm? Do you recommend taking the arms apart before painting? Taking an arm apart is not necessary and may not even help. You'll know if paint rub will occur if the plastic rubs against each other. Sometimes it's the disc that's too big and sometimes it's actually the limb. With this WIP, you can see it isn't the disc at the elbow, but the actual elbow that shows the paint rub. Both elbows will need to be filed down (not as far down to the disc, but enough not to rub against the tricep). The minimal sanding to avoid the rub won't compromise the integrity of the plastic to weaken the joint though. Hope this makes sense.
