I am part of a G.I. Joe group on Facebook and saw a guy selling some G.I. Joe Built To Rule figures, they looked a lot like Lanard to me, much thicker than usual Joes. Lots of pics online if anyone cares to look.
They were like G.I. Joe’s attempt at LEGO, but instead of doing mini versions of everything, full sized vehicles for full sized figures (3.75” that is)
Anyone ever compare the two? Or know another line that’s similar to modern Corps figures?
I remember the figures got pretty thick when they did Valor vs. Venom.
Just thought it might be worth looking into, so people could add an appropriate Duke or Cobra Commander to their Corps forces for a special mission.

I have several of those sets...the figures are a little bulkier than vintage-style Joes, but they're about average for New Sculpt-era figures. Which is to say they aren't quite as bulky as Corps figures, but they do fit in a little better than the vintage-style figures.
The BTR vehicles kind of sucked, by the way. I don't know if it was the building-block format itself, or the execution, but they weren't real exciting. Probably a combination of both...the vehicles didn't hold together well enough for play, and you didn't get enough parts to build anything that would accommodate a figure unless you stuck with the instructions (or bought a lot of sets).

I’d love to see some pics of them with Corps guys! Yeah the vehicles didn't attract me too much but at least the idea was an attempt at a lot of fun for the consumer, I would be interested in a line with more customizable snap-on options but no LEGO style bits..more like how you got the armour on G1 Jetfire or how the potentially easily broken bits come on and off the 2007 Movie Transformers.
