I believe release time is February/March. My two boys (7.5 and 5.5) would probably really enjoy these, so they may be rounding out birthday gifts in the coming months...

I like the Kong figure but I'm not sure about the price. All the stuff looks like fun and should make great toys for kids.

I just noticed Kong has no leg articulation Dang! I didn't notice that either. Now I'm really questioning the price.

Guy with the boat new or just hasn't been used lately?
I like the Jeep, Kong and few other things, but at the prices over what's out now, I'd rather just buy the mecha gorilla a d wait for Corps versions of this gear.

I *really* appreciate Lanards re use of parts. Seeing figures they've had in their catalogue for a decade or more being repainted /reprised for this toy line gives the Corps line in general a level of ...continuity and familiarity that I like.
Now the movie product...
Billy Jump Johnson. Is. Everything.
If I recall that character was supposed to be African American (?) so getting him with brown skin that better reflects the character is nice.
I've also got a soft spot for the Ethan Crown "Spade" body sculpt so it's nice to see that body get a new head sculpt.

Im pretty sure these decos of these figures will only be for these sets.

Like I've always said, there's a lot of mileage in their parts catalogue with a few good part swapping and redecos. I may wait and get a double of this figure before completing my Stag character...

Looks promising. I really only want the 4'' figures, though, so who knows if I'll wind up actually buying any of these...I'm not really all that invested in Kong as a property (I am actually trying to get rid of my Jurassic Park 4'' figures from a few years ago for the same reason!). I can't say a couple of the vehicles aren't tempting, however. Shame Kong doesn't have any (apparent) leg articulation, especially for the estimated price, but the sculpt looks nice and the arms have good articulation.

Guys addressing the price point, this is the answer, licensing. When any company makes products for another license holder there are markups so here we are, a movie tie in, Lanard has to pay to use Kong and it's likeness. Which means we pay more, but this also means More Lanard products. So it's a small price to pay in the long run.

I didn't know if the licensing agreement was going to have a significant impact on price because the price point has been a staple of Lanard's product. If anything, I thought they would double their price with an example being the $6 price for a figure and small vehicle with The Corp now being $12 for their new Kong figures and a vehicle. I didn't know it'd be about 3 times the amount.

I wouldn't consider these vehicles to be entirely analogous to the $6 Corps vehicles...after all, they do include creature sculpts and extra gear for the figures, whereas the $6 vehicles don't usually include anything beyond 1 figure. I'd say these are a bit more analogous to the $13 vehicles, which tend to include extra kit (weapons, battlefield props, etc.) beyond the figure and vehicle. Still marked up, probably due to licensing, but not as badly.
I do wonder which retailers these will be sold at. Walmart's pretty much a given, but I wonder if these will hit other retailers. Which retailers they are available at may also affect the final price point.
