I know I'm in the minority, but the lack of a back screw doesn't bother me overly because I don't really customize. I totally understand why you guys want it, though. Ease of customization is one of the big appeals of this line.
Also, I'm pretty sure they aren't about to phase out the old designs quite yet. They just broke out some of their old molds for Kong, and the 2017 line was depicted as including every figure from the 2016 line (and Spade, too!). Plus it's not like they have quite enough new sculpts just yet to base a line around.

Plus it's not like they have quite enough new sculpts just yet to base a line around. I dont think the will phase any out this year. But Next year if they have no uhh6-8 more new sculpts they may try to figure what charaters are needed less (example is they come out with a new diver better articulated. They could drop the driver they already have gills) or if instead of making new characters next year they do updates to existing...

I don't know how wise financially it would be if they began updating old characters with new sculpts. They'd have an opportunity to cut down costs (which Lanard is known for) if they just made legs compatible with the old torsos. I don't think they'd retire characters like Rain or Bolder (which is basically Blake) any time soon. Even old Rucker is too important to the story line to retire (maybe not).
Disposable characters (regarding the storyline IMO) would be Buckshot, Recoil, Dozer, and Reaper because of articulation and Condor (if you keep Spade) and Gills or Deisel (one or the other). Your literally keeping 1 maybe two guys off each sub team. That would leave 8 baddies and 9 good guys with Shrapnel being an army builder (which means you can have several more good guys in the lineup). Some of these guys have their own distinct mold so there's that, but those sweet Mirage arms are out of the lineup right now and that was a newer articulation mold.
Literally, if they made just one new mold figure that was compatible with the old molds, they'd make a lot of money off him. It may not be this round of new figures, but I believe Lanard will listen to their fans in time. Lanard seems to be the only mainline company trying to really keep the 3.75 figure alive.

I have a feeling that we are seeing the older guys again in the same deco because they have a massive surplus of them. Why else would they keep using these same deco figures instead of creating a new batch with new deco??

It's also possible that as they sell through, we might see new deco versions appear later down the line.

I understand. However, I can't find a Plague, Rucker or Bolder anywhere close to me right now. It's all about the female packs at my Walmart (both VS and 3-packs). I'm thing to pick up more Bolder's for the torso. I'll likely have to travel out of my area to find them which may also mean they could be running out of their surplus. I think they are putting all their eggs in the new figures right now and new decos come later.

I'm not really sure if you need a tiny tank or helicopter, but if you do, at least you can get some more Plagues and Bolders that way.

Sadly, they are out of my area Walmart as well. I guess it's a good thing that the merchandise is selling. However, I've always loved Lanard because you could usually score whatever you wanted because it was restocked often. First Response vehicles don't stay on the shelves long. Neither did the mech suits. I'm getting a ton of restocked just for female packs. I'll probably have to drive to one of the other 4 Walmarts that are further away to find some stuff. It's really all about the females right now.

Sage, I agree. The overwhelming popularity of the females/updated articulation surged the brand into creating the 8 new characters with full updated articulation. It also leads to the question of what Blake meant when he's answered people's question about ball-jointed hips. He has said the new figures have "new waist and hip articulation." Anyone in the know have any ideas what he means by new waist articulation?

Anyone hear confirmation on when the new figures are being released? I've heard both Summer and Fall. Hoping its Summer.

Anyone hear confirmation on when the new figures are being released? I've heard both Summer and Fall. Hoping its Summer. This what I logged into to check today to see if there had been a release date set. I too am hoping summer, because I bought one of my sons the big vehicles for Christmas and all the guys available at the time and he loves them. i bought him all the Kong toys too, but have been staggering giving them to him so that he keeps interest by adding a new toy every now and then. The main reason I hope it is an early summer release like June, is that we can play out in the backyard with them all summer long. He is excited about being able to build an army like my Cobra troopers army to fight his "Joes". He is in the second grade, same age I fell in love with GI Joe.

My son is also in the 2nd grade and I share the same sentiments. I am excited about the new Dino line, but that pales in comparison to the newly articulated figs. I follow Blake on IG and I just wished he'd give new renderings of the other figures or give us a release date. I know a lot is strategy and keeping things coming in waves (i.e., recent Kong release) to keep momentum built up. I'm just impatient. Still hoping it's the summer as well. Crazy that it's already April though.

Man, I found this image on Hisstank. Wish it would have been leaked to us first. Really like the concept of these file cards. Gives a little more background to the character. Also, Blake mentioned on the Tank that the figures will be released in the 4th quarter of the year. Bummer!
