After a while I dug out a lil' plastic screen pond in the old garden box. To give the water crafts some boogie room. Can you spot the capsized & sinking Shadow figure?

That's rad! But oh my goodness, that water looks nasty. It does have a swampy look! It's really not that dirty however. After a minute or two the silt settles to the bottom of the pool I've made there. It's this high quality planting soil we had put in last year. Granted we still sucked at gardening and have since given up. Hence the new direction of the garden boxes. I left those boats afloat for a while, bathing birds ransacked the Corps shortly thereafter. I've mentioned elsewhere, lashing glow spiders to Corps-faces. Here is a pic of that going on alongside my 'Spook Tree'.

"My dog was digging around the base of a rotting stump, I went to investigate the situation further. Poking at the stump & pulling large chunks of it out of the autumn ground, a delightful idea sprang into my head." - R41N reveals 'The Mineshaft' DYI playset. The idea is simple really, stack whatever 'base' you choose on a stump. I used the rotting base of a small tree. I dug away all of the dirt and rotting wood about 8" down from the base to make this near moat, dungeon, rabbit hole or 'mine shaft' subterranean tunnel. I hope you all will get out there and get dirty with the COPRS! er, CORPS! real soon & stay creative! Here's a quick sectioning of the levels of the Mineshaft.

Very cool stuff!
When my brother and I were kids, back in the 80s, Dad made us a base using 2 x 6 lumber (I think) cut into a shape roughly resembling the GI Joe HQ and spray painted red. This was attached to a flat piece of thick paneling board to make a floor. There were a few things inside, but the one which I will always remember was a plain plastic margarine tub, with the bottom cut out and sanded smooth, glued top-down to the floor. This, of course, was the prison cell!
My brother and I used this base for years, not only for GI Joe but also Thundercats, Rambo, and so forth. I will always remember that... I had planned on making something like that for my kids but between the various bases we inherited or picked up on the cheap, it was never needed. But every time I see a DIY playset, I think of that one from my childhood.

I have long dreamed of headquarters for my figures. Smoke, the dream could be realized if you just get ahold of some Styrofoam. Cite: R41N's HQ. Or get a hold of that 'Rock' playset.* * watch the Guns of Navarone, or google some Navarone playsets. Get wild Smoke!
