Here are some kitbashes I'm working on from some "retired" figures. I know Spade may be coming back. I don't know how I feel about the look, but I kept his torso and gave him Bolder's arms and legs. Mirage was given blue Rain's torso and Deisel's arms and lower legs because they have the same deco. He'll need to be repainted because he black upper and dark gray lowers don't match. Decoder is looking more commando with Mirage's arms and lower legs. On a personal note, I feel like those lower legs are the best Lanard sculpt that doesn't feel so cartoony. Spade will remain a good guy, but Mirage and Decoder will become Curse agents. I'll be repainting them and will show finished products as they come. I really started the kitbashes on Decoder because I love his head sculpt, but Mirage has unexpectedly become the figure I like the most so far. Maybe that will change once they are repainted.

Here is is a quick update. I actually switched out the main parts of Deisel's body (since I have several lying around from the Puma pack) so the repaint will be much easier. aside from the teal neck, he looks pretty good as is, but I want him in Curse colors.

Great kitbashes! I have a bunch I need to take pics of as well. Slap a Rick Ranger head on your Spade combo there and you'll have my Frost custom character! How did you swop the Diesel legs onto the green mirage crotch?? And how easy is it to swop the different parts of limbs like you did on Mirage and Decoder??

I didn't even notice that combo with Frost. I really like the arms with Spade's head because it seems to fit with that big noggin. I just didn't know if I liked that jacket with short sleeves yet. I liked it on Frost with the paint apps, so maybe I'll like Soade more once he's painted. Removing lower legs and swapping them out is fairly simple. My technique is to place the legs under running hot water to make the plastic pliable. I'll then take a small screw driver and press on the outside peg at the knee and push it through until the leg is loose. The plastic is still pliable while hot so you can just about pull it free once the peg goes through. To be honest, I figured at least the new recruit sculpts would easily be swappable (i.e., I wanted to completely swap Mirage and Decoder's legs, but Decoder's butt was too big for Mirage's torso and the screw wouldn't fully hold together), but they aren't. It's funny that Lanard's tooling is so different from Total Soldier to New Recruit.

Yeah I would love to get a hold of some mirages. I so want to try cutting off his hat an sculpting hair.

Sage, I've thought for a long time that I'd like to dremel out Mirage's mask or that hat, but I never could force myself to do it. I want to dabble into sculpting in the future, but just haven't yet. I am curious now to see what hair would look like on him. I wish I would have bought 20 of those Mirage figures now. I love the mask and I love using the arms. Hate that they are not being used on current figures and they will probably be retired since the sculpted arms of Titan/El Jefe look great and are updated. Hoping to find several of them at thrift stores and yard sales now.

If you are interested in sculpting you coud either take a figure you have alot of extras of or a cheap figure and try it on that first. To do hair i use tooth picks wood or plastic. You get a general shape you want then instead of trying to sculpt hair you sculpt the space between the hair. If you need me to ill dig you up a youtube video on how to. I use epoxy scultp for mine but depending on where you live you might find other stuff easier

I always research stuff before I buy and use. More than likely I'll be using green stuff. Have you had any experience with that? With me being a novice, I figured that was best for me regarding how long it takes to set up and the ability to keep it workable for longer periods of time.

I havent used green stuff. I tried milliput and epoxy scuplt and liked epoxy scuplt better. I want to get this stuff call sugru. It is sculptable but comes out rubbery. So its great for hair and helmets / soft goods. But you have buy it the color you want it to be because it doesnt take paint well.

You may recognize the face on this new guy as Crash. Crash is Greek and really had a big Greek nose. I've cut it and sanded it down significantly. I also shaved his head into a Mohawk/faux hawk as well as shaved off his beard. I got rid of the monkey arms and swapped them with Troll's. I actually had Condor's legs on him and they looked so good, but I'm using them for a Spade kitbash. I dremeled down the Troll waist and made it fit. Although I liked Condor's look, the Troll legs fit the military design of the torso better. He'll be painted into a darker skinned Curse villain. I'll post him when he's dremeled down more and painted. He actually looks more like Rucker now so I'll likely dremel down his chin and sand the nose flatter to make him more central/South American.

Here is what he looked like from the same angles. This is not the actual WIP. This is another figure I had of Crash lying around, but you can see how much nose was taken off as well as the hair.
