Reaper was known to take out entire Corps posts by himself. Plague instructed Reaper to find and capture the remaining members of the Shinobi Squad since Rain became the Corps leader to try and bait him to lead with his emotions and into an ambush. Once Reaper found Trent Tanner's location, he did not approach alone, but came with the aid of brothers, Troll and Ogre, along with a small squad known as Shrapnel Soldiers. Although several of the Shrapnel Soldiers were killed and Reaper sustained significant injuries, Trent "Decoder" Tanner was finally captured. Beaten, battered and bruised, no information on the location of the classified Shinobi member, Mirage, was obtained. Plague, instead of killing Decoder, decided to torture him and used advanced nano-mechs to alter his mental state which forced him into submitting his will to none other than Plague and the Collective of the Curse. Now, with an altered mental state and a physically augmented body, all that remains of Decoder is the blade-wielding Curse operative now known only as Slash.    Here is the full repaint of the kitbashed custom of Decoder. He was fun to put together and make the backstory as to why he and eventually Mirage are joining the ranks of the Curse. I know the name Slash is used for the 6 inch line. However, old packaging labeled Trent Tanner as Slash and then the back of the package would say Decoder. Since he has his blades (which surprisingly still fit without his massive gloves from the original body), I felt the old name of Slash was only fitting. |

Niiice! You beat me to it! I was going to do a brainwashed Decoder as well but Im calling him Hacker (seeing as Slash was taken)
Great job on the skull paint! Im about to attempt hat on my Shrike character... (ie: ex Eagle Eye)

Niiice! You beat me to it! I was going to do a brainwashed Decoder as well but Im calling him Hacker (seeing as Slash was taken) Great job on the skull paint! Im about to attempt hat on my Shrike character... (ie: ex Eagle Eye) Thanks! I felt that not everyone was like Reaper and joined the Curse because of greed and power. Part of the Corps mantra was loyalty and I felt Decoder and Mirage would be loyal since they were part of a brotherhood with Rain on the Shinobi Squad. The twist in the story is always if the nano-mechs can be reversed and they gain their former mental state back. I'd love to see your Hacker figure. Didn't see it in the digi-customs thread. The skull was actually really easy since the Curse skull has several imperfections. The hard part was the red lines. They are kinda haphazardly put in several figures, but I wanted it a little cleaner on my figure. Straight lines are hard to do though. Not sure if I like my paint app there. Also, the eyes were a little harder than expected. Typically male figures only have the black eye liner at the top of the eye and females have it around the whole eye. However, Lanard baddies have the eye liner around the whole eye. It took several tries to get that right too. |

As far as the eyes are concerned, I'm going to add something to his to show that he is under mind control. I'll post a pic when I figure it out. It'll go along with be story line I have going for him and Mirage. |

I read the term "droned" you used in other posts but didn't realize what it meant in your context. Now I do after actually reading your story. Lol I thought I was clever with my brainwashing story with Decoder and Mirage to only find out you came up with it first. Ha! I feel a little foolish now. I wish I'd have actually read yours so then I would have just followed your story line and placed my own elements to it (Decoder and Eagle Eye's botched mission being the reason Rucker steps down instead of Decoder and Mirage being used as a ploy for Rain). Now I have my own storyline playing in my head. Apologies for apparently ripping elements of your story. Lol Anyway, I've figured out what I wanted to do with the eyes (which I actually did look at your digi custom for reference). I couldn't bear to do just the white out look because it took me forever to get his eyes right, but I am using part of the idea. I'll be doing more of a gray out, but with a red dot in the center to ID the nano effect. I'm using the term "Claimed" to note the people that have the advanced nano-mechs to take over/claim their mind. "The Claimed" can be anyone the Curse feels they would like to utilize, but they won't willingly help them. Obviously, I'll think through what reverses the effects or if a powerful mind can reverse it on its own. |

I have a hard time on eyes I struggle as well. It's a lot of time with trial and error. Needles are the way to go though. Good custom and back story. Thanks, pjr3! He was fun to create and place back in my Corps universe. Wow great work on the eyes! ! Thanks, AWC! Glad you liked them. You'd be surprised how difficult a little red dot can be. Lol |
