Are they any current figures that can easily be used for head swaps with Corps figures? I'm thinking of just basic open the bodies and switch the heads. I saw some Tru Heroes figures in Toys R Us and the heads look too large for the bodies but close to scale for The Corps. Has anyone used them?

True Heroes and Chap Mei figures are the closest thing but rarely can they just be straight up swapped. Most of the heads will had to be modified (neck peg too long/short/wide). Even in the Corps lineup, not all the heads go on all the torsos. Other lines can be done though.

I often have to dremmel or carve necks down to fit but i find alot of chap mai and other figures like the dirt bike figures and adveture people can be made to work. Ive even had luck with happy meal toys. Better the neck be to big and you can shave ot down then too small.

Question--are all the Corps neck joints of the same "type" (ball-joint, swivel) the same size as each other? I had an idea, and it probably won't come to fruition, but it made me wonder about that.

Hmmm I want to say no... not the same size... same type yes but size, no. I say this as I have tried different heads on different torsos and sometimes they are loose or tight. Either that or its the torso hollows that differ.

Aww...if true, that's a shame. I guess I'll have to experiment a bit and see if I can at least find a rule-of-thumb. I've only taken apart one or two figures so far...I've found that the torsos can be tough to pry apart, even after removing the screw, so that's discouraged me from doing some of the casual tinkering I might otherwise.

Ugh yeah sometimes those torsos are clamped together pretty tight. I have broken one or two of those little pegs that hold them together before, due to trying to pry them open.
