Series 4 (World Force Response Team / Red-Carded Series)
Series 4 was released on red cards later in 1996. The six new sports-themed figures were removed and only the first 24 molds were used for the main line. The often more colorful paint schemes of series 3 were dropped in favor of more military-themed designs utilizing a lot of camouflage. There were six different color schemes and three figures in each color scheme. Of note - the first parts-swap occurred in this series, with Bengala and Whispering Willie trading their usual torsos. Also, silver accessories were dulled considerably during this series.
Packaging for series 4 featured red cards with a barbed-wire background, but no character art at all. Mainline figures were available in single packs, single packs with mini-vehicles, carded 2-packs vertical carded 3-packs, carded 3-packs with mini-vehicles, and carded 7-packs with mini-vehicles.
Existing vehicles were repainted and re-released, and new vehicles were added to the assortment: an APC (armored personnel carrier), a Humvee-styled jeep, a 6-wheeled all-terrain troop carrier, and a helicopter modeled after the U.S. military Cobra helicopter.
Bio Wing Battle Squadron was again produced with packaging that made it a subline of the red carded The Corps! line.
Animal Patrol consisted of six The Corps! figures with animal companions and special accessories.
Mounted Patrol included three unnamed new-mold figures on horseback.
Special Action Squad, released toward the end of series 4, included a figure and mid-size vehicle or playset. These were subtitled "Max Power Sets! at the bottom of the packaging, which was a subtitle that would carry on into series 5.
Lazer Force (not affiliated with the 1995 subset of the same name) was released near the end of series 4 and included three new-mold characters with light-up sound backpacks. Each character was available in two different paint schemes. Packaging indicated "Max Light & Sound!" tying into the new "Max Power" subtitles appearing near the end of this series.
NOTE: In this series, all weapons previously molded in silver were now molded in a dull silver/gray color. This includes the sai, goggles, quiver backpack, airtank backpack, laser rifle, uzi, and shotgun.
