Series 5 (Total Action Series)
In 1999, The Corps! got a new subtitle - Total Action Series - and a slight change to packaging design. Packaging now featured a red card which faded into black at the top, and a Corps! logo with a radar display behind it. Most if not all of this series also featured the subtitle "Max Power Sets!" at the bottom of the packaging, continued from the last year of series 4.
Six more of the original 24 figures were removed from the assortment - Crowbar, Gasman, Night Lazer, Toxic Waster, Whispering Willie, and Bengala (though for some reason, Bengala was available in at least one of the boxed sets from this series in his upcoming series 6 design). These characters were replaced by six figures new to the main line - repainted versions of Full Proof, Justin Case, and Larz Lazer from 1998's Lazer Force subset as well as the Mounted Patrol figures, now given the names Tracker Tom, and Shooter Sam, as well as the newly pieced-together Rick Ranger.
Figures were available in small-card single packs, carded 3-packs with a mini-vehicle, carded single figures with mini-vehicle and small playset, aand various boxed sets. The figures reused from the previous series' main line were painted nearly the same with a few additional paint details. The concept of three figures sharing an aesthetic was continued with the six new main-line figures.
Full-size vehicles in this series included a gray camo APC, a green ATK Helicopter, a tan Field Tracker six-wheeled vehicle, green camo Hummer ATK Vehicle, green Battle Tank, dark green Trooper Carrier pickup truck, Swamp Rover mini-jeep, dark green Ambulance, tan camo jeep Field Vehicle, and tan camo Patrol Boat.
The Action Packs subset was a group of boxed sets containing an adventure theme with two figures and a host of accessories.
