I'll be honest, I loved GI Joe as a kid and watched the cartoon before school on the regular. I had my fair share of Joes, but when I really thought thru it, I had many more Corps than Joes and they shared my own figure universe as a kid. With the news of a possible tv show (cartoon or live) and the outstanding shelf presence in every Wally World, will the Corps become the "Gi Joe" of this generation? Thoughts?

As much as I would like to see a property like Joe or The Corps rise to prominence once again, the shift away from military play for kids really makes me think that the line will continue in a relatively small niche.
In a world where Nerf guns routinely make annual unsafe toy lists (the kids might *gasp* SHOOT EACH OTHER WITH NERF DARTS!), it is hard for me to imagine a return my childhood, where Joe vs Cobra ruled the day and the toy aisles. I mean, those Joes and Cobras came with PLASTIC GUNS and you could pretend to SHOOT other kids' toys with them. That sort of "violence" is an anathema to a lot of adults in today's market.

If the Corps! focuses on the tech angle in the cartoon they can absolutely succeed. Comics and action figures are world projecting mediums. Parents may not want their child shooting waves of enemy troops with an m-16 but they will be more accepting of their child learning to code to fight off a body controlling nano virus ...while carrying a weapon.
If the Corps descends into lobbing ammunition back and forth *i* would probably be the only one watching and that's only because there is a dearth of classic animated action shows being broadcast.

Wait what's this about a tv show? Just a rumour of the possible avenues Lanard are exploring...

I don't think it will ever be as big as what Joe was, but I think it can be the cultural ezquivalent. Most young kids have no idea what GI Joe is right now. However, they do know what Call of Duty is as well as a plethora of first person shooter games. I would like for them to expand into more of that sci-fi realm and it will be more of its own stand alone line especially if they get media ties.

My son (raised on Joe DVDs) is always talking about it to other students, this has gotten more than one father calling me and asking for "Joe Parties" with them and their kid. Its quite funny that the kid involved has very little interest but the parent is all in.

Now he's more into the Corps because Joe is basically non-existent at retail. Our generation is what is keeping Joe alive at the moment.

My kid has no idea what GIJoe is but I often wonder if it would give him more 'context' for his Corps toys if I showed him the Joe toons...

Possibly, I know in my house Joe came first and we started getting Corps because there were no GI Joe toys to be found. My son sees them as GI Joe and plays with them as such. One day I am hoping to get him some Corps customer to be Duke, Snake Eyes, Shipwreck (the best Joe) and Scarlett.

Looking forward to the army builder three packs. Did I understand correctly, that the curse troopers are coming this summer? The army builder is here (Shrapnel). Sadly though, he is packaged with Rucker and Reaper. I had been loading up on he Trickshot/Impact set and the El Jefe/Smoke set for customs since they are the same bases.
