I grabbed four sets late last night... The motorcycle, power loader, drone/egg/facehugger, and a set I hadn't seen yet with a gun station. No sign of the queen or apc. I haven't gotten a chance to crack them open yet, but they look great.

I saw everything except the Queen figure today at Walmart. I don't like the inconsistent look of the human figures. A couple of them look rather cheap and not like anything I've seen from Lanard before. Allow me to give a little history on the Green Marines, back in 2001 when lanard was moving away from O-Ring Lanard introduced Total Soldier Version 1 (not to be confused with total soldier corps which came later). this was before the T-Crotch era Corps!, When the only direct competition at retail in 2001 was chap mei's soldier force, this was a time right befor GIJOE relaunched itself as joe vs cobra, And the corps! were still sold as O rings figures. Lanard has these, as a lower price pint in places like Walmart, Save A Lot, KB toys, and other retailers. Here's a look at total soldier Version 1. Attachments:

Ok. I opened them up.
As cool as they look in the packages, once you get them open... They are even better.
The articulation on the aliens is impressive, though strangely enough they have static elbows. Somehow, given what they are, the elbows don't feel like a big deal.
I expected the aliens to be identical, but they aren't. There are at least three different kinds with noticeable differences in sculpt - runners (this one is red), warriors (one blue and one green) and a drone (the gold one).
As far as colors, I know some people are on the fence, but the metallic shine is really cool. Getting a multi colored swarm looks awesome. If you really have trouble with the green or gold, you might love the blue one - it's pretty reminiscent of some of the old toys.
The old school total solider v1 figures aren't great on their own, but think of them more as fodder accessories for the alien and they are perfect. The commando and scientist figures on the other hand are really well done.
Bottom line - these sets are fantastic. Grab them if you get a chance!

I was wondering were the Xenos different sculpts. Thanks for the info! Now I'm going to have to get them all somehow. Personally I agree and think they look great in those colours, it is a good reinterpretation of a classic monster.

Thanks for the background on the human figures. I appreciate that they are Lanard figures but I still don't think they look that good.

What everyone has to have in their minds first and foremost is that these item are primarily a children's toyline. Aimed at 7-14 year olds, not just at collectors. The price point is fantastic, the quality is great, from a collectors point of view the sculpts are top notch! and the colors pull from multimedia sources such as the Koami Arcade videogame and Dark Horse Comics not just from the films.

I found the APC at a different Walmart today. I've got everything but the queen - has anyone seen it on store shelves yet? (The three digit one listed on Ebay doesn't count)
I'm surprised that Walmarts put these out right after Christmas - but it worked out alright for me!

I haven't been collecting for quite some time, every time I went to Walmart there was never anything new. So I just lost interest.
But I just ran across this line by accident on eBay, and what an amazing surprise! I always wanted a 3 3/4" Xenomorph.. and almost bought the Alien ReAction figure a few times but never did because I didn't care for the sculpt.
I bought the yellow Xeno set.. and I love it! The yellow Xeno (looks more like bright gold) is a beautiful sculpt!! I do wish they had used a darker plastic.. but the gold color is growing on me. And it has more articulation than I expected.
And I really like the research scientist, I know it's not a unique design.. but visually it fits in very well with this set. Plus I'm a sucker for figures with removable helmets.
I haven't bought a 3 3/4" scale vehicle in *years*.. but this APC is really calling to me!
