The Corps Emergency Fire Truck

Circa 1999-2000



During the late 90s early 2000s Lanard who is known for the Corps military figures did something new and exciting. They created a civilian work force made up of Police, Fire, EMS and Construction. Most of the series included a vehicle and three figures they were ideal for filling in the gaps of G.I. Joe, Corps or any other military 4 inch line.



The Fire Truck was part of a set from Sears during the late 90s early 2000s. Consisting of a Fire Truck, Ambulance and six wheeled ATV (which I know longer have). The Fire Truck includes rolling tires, opening cabin doors, opening canopy with control center inside the truck, opening rear door, rotating adjustable ladder, moving water cannon and removable smaller ladder that could fold out. This was a nice addition to the Corps line as a front line fire fighter. The figures were included in a three pack and included gear to aid in rescue I don't remember if these were included in the set or purchased at Walmart during that same time.

The Corps! Emergency Ambulance
Circa 1999-2000

Included with the Fire Truck was The Corps Ambulance designed to look like a real world service vehicle. The Ambulance features opening driver and passenger doors, opening canopy with control center, removable gurney, opening rear door and rolling tires. There are three rescue figures all including different equipment. Like the Fire men I do not know if they were included with the set or from a store.

The Corps! Emergency Police Car
Circa 1999-2000

By far my favorite Corps vehicle made the Police squad car is the smallest in the Emergency series but is also one of the hardest to find. I was fortunate to pick mine up several years ago when smalljoes.com was cleaning out there warehouse. The squad car includes rolling tires, opening passenger and driver doors and trunk. The trunk has just enough room to fit weapons or a service dog which my version did not include. This version did include a figure (Officer with sun glasses) and accessories. There were also three Police figures each include weapons and gear.

The Corps! Construction 4x4 Truck
Circa 1999-2000

Lanard along with the Emergency sets released a Construction crew to with there military and space line. The Corps! Construction featured six or seven figures with construction jobs from a carpenter, painter and tree trimmer. It was know brainer to include a 4x4 truck to perform the hard work the construction crew needs. The truck is bright yellow with opening driver and passenger doors, rolling tires and room in the bed as well as room in the utility box with removable cover. There were several ways to pick up the truck. As a Sears exclusive as I did or a figure multi pack in stores.

The Corps! Haz-Mat
Circa early 2000s

I picked this up during the early 2000s because at that time I was working in Haz-Mat. This suited me (no pun intended) and nothing says disaster like a Haz-Mat clean up crew. I remember pick this set up from smalljoes.com which it included the vehicle, two figures and backpack with sucker and hose. The vehicle is a repaint of the Corps! ATV and includes rolling six wheel tires, opening front canopy, opening window flaps, working searchlight, opening canopy on the top and opening back door. The APC can hold two in the front and up to 20 in the cargo hold. While there is no detail inside the cargo hold it makes for a good staging center or a hold to unleash hordes of infected zombies.
Included with the APC are two identical Haz-Mat figures each include a mask and one pack with hose and suction head.

The Corps! Transport Truck

The Transport Truck was part of the main line of Corps military figures it has gone through several repaints and modifications including the Corps! Construction truck and Service vehicle. The Transport has been re-outfitted to transport troops in the bed and incudes a soft goods cover. There are four sets each with foot pegs and two seats in the cab. The cover can be rolled up or down using Velcro tabs. The truck has rolling wheels, opening cab doors and included a Search Light tow trailer with real electronic lights and sounds. The searchlight is actually pretty bright and features can be rotated and elevated at the base. The figures are both repaints and have some nice mud stained paint wipes on there legs and arms. Each includes a backpack and two weapons.

The Corps! Jeep

The standard Corps! style jeep during the 2000s. Holds four figures, has rolling wheels and came with a rocket launcher that snapped on the bar over the seats. It was a bit awkward and cumbersome so I tossed it. While it doesn't have any fancy lights or sound or transform into a two story robot it is idea as a command transport for Officers and Generals or it can be used as a pursuit vehicle for mercenaries and villains.

The Corps! Artillery Stations


I picked these up over the years in different sets to use in the battlefield with either my Joe's or generic troops. Each station can rotate and elevate at the base. Two are trailers that can be hauled by vehicles. The missile launcher has four removable missiles.

The Corps! Battle Stations

The Corps Battle Stations were basically used to shoot back and forth and take out the other side. Each station was similar but different. You simply used the spring action rocker launcher to knock a chunk of block off the opponent. This station was made up of sandbags and included three poles, net cover, piece that fit onto the base, rocket launcher, two rockets and ammo box. The set also included two figures Croc and Hammer and a swamp cycle. Both figures included each a backpack and three weapons.

The Corps! Battle Station 2

The other station was a gray concrete/brick structure and is on of my favorites because it goes really well with a certain Cobra Saboteur we all know and love. This station had the same basic features as the other except it included one figure Hammer. I don't remember if this station included a bike or not. Hammer came with a backpack and two weapons.

Man...it makes me kind of sad to see that we were getting all these kinds of innovations in the late 90's and early 2000's, but now that we're well into 2016, the best innovations people seem to be coming up with are making figures more and more expensive. Don't get me wrong--I support and enjoy a lot of the more expensive modern product--but I miss stuff like this that was creative and that you could actually play with.
