The Corps Adventure Series
The Quest for the Golden Masks! The Adventure series sets appeared during the early 2000s and were more of a exploration team rather then military. Each set included two figures taken from the Corps! brand and placed with animals, a small vehicle and accessories. I will not be posing these figures with weapons in hand over time thumbs have become brittle and will snap off very easily. First up is the Quest for the Golden Masks set. Included is Shooter Sam and Tracker Tom as well as two horses with saddle, two golden masks, two rifles, satchel, bow, three arrows, quiver, snake and eagle and map of the treasure.

The Corps Adventure Series The Hunt for the lost Warheads! This set but it too is my favorite out of the four sets. This set includes my favorite Corps Justin Case. And this set includes two! More or less a Special Ops team the figures include two backpacks, two pairs of what I assume are hover shoes or float shoes, two rifles, two pistols and some type of backpack that's either a scuba tank, air tank or detonator and two radios. Also included are two dirt bikes, two ICBM rockets that look very much like the ones from the 1988 Cobra Adder, Alligator and Jaguar.

Wow! Most of these , no, ALL of these are new to me . This is exactly what many Joe fans have been clamoring for - Adventure themed sets as opposed to the strictly military theme presented via Joe. I shouldn't be surprised that Lanard actually provided this as they have a bit more flexibility when it comes to changing course regarding themes. The Quest for the Golden Masks! set is damn cool.
I'd love to see Lanard release adventure themed sets using the "new" rubbery plastic for the figures that the New recruits use. Every last one of these sets is appealing to me .
It also makes me realize that Mega Bloks is continuing to succeed because they are using time tested marketing strategies. They have smaller adventure themed sets as well.

I'd love to see the Deep Sea Treasure Hunt set re-released. With the figures getting modern sculpting and new hip articulation. Would be a cool set. Nice. I wonder if the warehouse still has these in stock?

It's also neat to see that some of this stuff continues to be re-issued into the modern era--the raft and shark appeared as recently as Total Soldier (US branding timeline--maybe even more recently in other regions), and the dirt bikes are still in production.

Why are the 2002 sets so hard to find? This is the only place I can even find pictures and names of the playsets... Have they been reissued at all?

This is amazing! I've been trying to see this sets up close for a while. Can you post a picture of what the black Shark looks like unmasked?
